I've been going through such a dry spell lately, art-wise. I dont even have the feel to practise drawing nudes. I guess staying at home everyday does that to you. Perhaps I would find inspiration if I go out more, if not inspiration, at least my mind would be clearer. BUT, I exploded my piggy bank on LEGO clearance sales (more about that next time :D), custom-made LEGO weapons and vintage sets, this makes going out for shopping or expensive mindless spendings impossible. Well.

HOWEVER, a few days ago I had this explosion of an idea. So I did up this mock-poster, supposedly early 20th century style. I was thinking of the movie The Prestige, the one about magicians, how what may appear to be "magic" on stage, could actually be real; and that with it some form of sacrifice. It was set in the early 20th century London, and there were these big black & white posters advertising these magicians with words like, "MYSTIC ACTS". I was also reading this book called The Resurrectionist by James Bradley, which gave me alot of question marks by the way andddd I didnt finish reading it cause I had too many question marks about it.

Sooooo, in my mind, there is this one magician going by the stage name (apparently all magicians have stage names at that time) of The Resurrectionist. He is able to resurrect/re-animate/bring to live dead people, animals. Critics called it an extraordinary piece of trickery but others people that he actually dabbled in dark sorcery. OR OR, it may just be electricity!!!!! (allusion to Frankenstein)

Can anyone gues where that sentence, "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is Death" came from? :D

Singapore Toys Games Comic Convention

Met up with the LEGO bros early in the morning to take a look at all the new and exclusive LEGO sets. Due to a forum outing later in the evening, I ended up walking around the convention the whole afternoon while some of the bros went to chillzzzz at the foodcourt.

I hung out mostly at the Artist Alley, looking at all those amazing artworks!! But due to budget constraint (I spent all my money on LEGO online), I couldnt get any! ):

The highlight of my day is meeting with Brian Bolland, a comic artist who is well know for illustrating The Killing Joke! I brought my copy along for him to sign! :D

I bought a random copy of a comic with the coverart done with Brian Bolland too. I love the Batman characters. Poison Ivy is so hot. :D~

Blythe dolls. Those with big heads, big eyes. I prefer those really life-like ones with joints though.

This stall of artworks are results of a collaboration between a professional photographer & an artist. I love the picture of the lady in white, I wanted to get it but felt a little weird having a random pretty lady staring at me from my walls?!

TREESON! I was hoping I can get one because they aint sold in Singapore, and they originated from Taiwan. (HINT HINT STELLA)

If there's anything more disgusting than a cockroach, it is cockroach parts.
Some CREATURE has been eating cockroaches and leaving their parts IN MY HOUSE.
UGH how gross is that! I've just removed half a cockroach wing & its head (attached btw) from my washing machine. How lucky it is that I spotted it before I dumped my clothes in. Im not fond of having cockroach parts on my clothes.

Then again, it might just be my mother who's been killing them unknowingly. She probably decapitated them by accidently dropping her files & documents on these unsuspecting bugs.

YUCK.

EDIT: After a second round of careful inspection, I found ONE cockroach feeler in the washing machine.
